Yemen's fighting traps civilians in Taiz as displacement crisis deepens
Renewed fighting in Yemen's Taiz region has left dozens of people stranded, unable to reach their homes after Houthi forces cut off land and sea routes along the western coastline. Many, including patients who travelled for medical treatment, are now appealing for safe passage through the al-Wadiah border crossing with Saudi Arabia. Meanwhile, roughly 100,000 others have been displaced by the escalation, with families living in fragile camps facing disease, hunger and a severe shortage of humanitarian aid, according to local officials. Al Jazeera's Maha Ali reports from Taiz, Yemen. Check our website: Download AJE Mobile App:

Yemenis flee escalating fighting: Families seek shelter in growing tent camps
Thousands of Yemenis have been forced from their homes as fighting intensifies, with displaced families seeking refuge in makeshift camps between Taiz and Aden. Camps in and around Taiz are struggling to accommodate the growing number of people fleeing the violence, many of whom have arrived with few belongings and limited access to food, water and basic services. Nearly 198,000 people had been officially registered as displaced by the start of October, with more than 97,000 being housed in Taiz province. Al Jazeera’s Hadeel Al Yamani reports from Al Bireen camp in southwestern Yemen. Check our website: Download AJE Mobile App:
